Pokemon X and Y News: Starter Greninja Joins Super Smash Bros 4 Roster; Joins Charizard, Lucario, and Pikachu (VIDEO)

Pokemon X and Y's dominance of the video game world is spreading rapid fire with its 12 million games sold in the last six months, and now that popularity is carrying over to Super Smash Bros 4.

In the new SSB4, there will be a host of new characters dedicated to the popular franchise, including the game's most recent edition. Actual playable characters include Greninja, Charizard, Pikachu, and, Lucario. Each of the four have their own unique set of abilities and attacks, and the newest edition, Greninja, looks like a force to be reckoned with.

At yesterday's Nintendo Direct, game developer Masahiro Sakurai revealed a host of new Assist Trophies to help gamers fight enemies. The Pokemon pop out of either a Poke Ball for regular creatures, or a Master Ball for some of the more rare or legendary ones. The monsters revealed in the episode were: Meowth, Electrode, Eevee, Staryu, Metagross, Fennekin, Meloetta, Gogoat, Entei, Deoxys, Palkia, Kyurem, Victini, Keldeo, Xerneas and Chandelure. There could be more as well, as these were just featured in a short trailer.

X and Y was just named the fastest selling Nintendo 3DS game of all time, and just reached the 12 million sold mark. Important to note is the sales total includes both X and Y. These two sold four million games on their launch weekend globally.
