Polaroid, Lady Gaga Launch Z340 Digital Camera; Instantly Captures and Prints Pics
Polaroid and its Creative Director Lady Gaga are introducing an instant digital camera that will allow users to take pictures and instantly print from the device.
The classic picture company does not want to fall behind on the digital wave sweeping the world of photography. Now photographers will be able to print their digital images with color, similar to the traditional Polaroid camera.
Polaroid is advertising the move with the slogan: “Experience the Next Generation of Instant.” Customers are able to choose from the Z340, PIC 300, and GL10 models.
The Z340 model is billed as the Instant Digital camera, and it is built similar to the classic Polaroid camera. A slide handle allows users to get a firm grip on the camera and a built in front slot prints out 3-inch by 4-inch full color images instantly. The Z340 features a 14-megapixel sensors and 2.7-inch LCD screen. The camera retails at $299.99.
For $99.99, buyers can also purchase the PIC300. The device is battery operated and can print 2.1-inch by 3.4-inch photographs instantly.
“It has everything you loved about instant photography back in a fun and one-of-a-kind Polaroid way. With four lighting settings and an auto-flash, your photos will be perfect every time. Take the 300 Instant Camera with you to capture the fun instantly,” said Polaroid regarding the PIC 300.
On Polaroid’s website, the GL10 is described as “the next generation of the Polaroid instant printing experience.”
“The Polaroid Grey Label GL10 instant mobile printer frees digital images trapped on hard drives and cell phones,” Polaroid added.
The 15-ounce printer retails at $169.99 and can print images wirelessly without ink using its ZINK Technology.
“The first product in Polaroid and Lady Gaga's new Polaroid Grey Label line, the GL10, features a small size, intuitive design and easy-to-use feature set that produces full bleed and contemporary 3x4" photos in the Polaroid Classic Border logo in less than one minute, making it a portable photo booth that allows you to bring Polaroid magic wherever you go,” Polaroid explained.
Lady Gaga seemed to enjoy the new product line.
“A day at work in Tokyo, Japan with my new associates. Showing Polaroid my new visions and designs as creative director,” tweeted the artist.
