Poll: Pornographers Support Obama Over Romney 5 to 1
In a survey taken on an adult entertainment social networking site, pornographers overwhelmingly supported President Barack Obama over candidate Mitt Romney.
The poll, taken by XBIZ.net and announced Wednesday, found that of 339 respondents 68 percent favored President Obama versus 13 percent for Romney, or a margin of about 5 to 1. Nineteen percent responded either "someone else" or "I don't care."
Patrick Trueman, president and CEO of the anti-pornography group Morality in Media, told The Christian Post that the disparity is likely due to the GOP's efforts against the porn industry.

"Historically, the Republican Party has shown more interest in protecting children and families from the scourge of pornography though the laws we have on the federal books were past almost unanimously so that means significant Democratic Party support," said Trueman.
"It is interesting that the porn industry thought this would be noteworthy and released it. I think the Obama Campaign would be embarrassed by the solid support of pornographers."
In August, the Republican National Convention added language to the party platform that expanded their stated opposition to pornography from just child porn to adult porn as well. The new language reads that "current laws on all forms of pornography and obscenity need to be vigorously enforced."
Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, was able to get the language into the platform as a delegate at the GOP Convention.
Tom McClusky, senior vice president for FRC Action, told The Christian Post in an earlier interview that it was Perkins "who recognized the problem and drafted the language to make the platform stronger."
"The original language mirrored previous platforms and only addressed Internet and child pornography," said McClusky. "As we have seen in previous administrations, including the current one, they all but ignore enforcing the other laws on the books that deal with adult pornography and obscenity."
Steven Hirsch, CEO of Vivid Entertainment, a major adult film producer, said in a statement to XBIZ that the results of the poll were of no surprise.
"The results aren't really surprising because most people involved with the adult industry have a liberal view of government and how it should work," said Hirsch.
"Social issues are more important than fiscal issues and they will support a candidate who shares their beliefs."
Trueman of MIM told CP that he felt the XBIZ poll could have an impact on the November election, as it could further mobilize those interested in advancing traditional family values.
"To people concerned with 'family issues' it will mean a lot. Every family in America has either been harmed by pornography or is worried about the harm," said Trueman.
"We have laws on the books to protect children and families from the scourge of pornography but … President Obama refuses to enforce those laws."
