Prince Harry, Girlfriend Cressida Make Splash at First Engagement Together
Prince Harry and girlfriend Cressida Bonas attended their first official engagement together, causing a public stir, especially when they shared a public display of affection.
Harry and Cressida attended the annual WE Day U.K. youth event at Wembley Arena in order to help encourage others to help others in any way possible. The crowd, which consisted mainly of young people, was thrilled to see the royal and his girlfriend out for the first time. They were even more thrilled when Harry leaned in to kiss Cressida, which is rare for a royal.
"Some people do not think it is cool to help others," Harry said in his keynote address. "Personally, I think it is the coolest thing in the world. Every single one of you has done something amazing to be here today. It may not feel like it to you, but I can assure you that, collectively, your actions can and will shape the course of our future."
"The world around us is changing fast. On one hand, it is a much more connected place. The Internet is now part of our everyday lives, and social media has changed the way we communicate," Harry continued. "What this means is that our generation, although I am nearly 30, has the greatest opportunity of any in our history to effect change on a global scale."
Harry is very active when it comes to charities and performing on behalf of his passions. He recently kicked off the United Kingdom's version of Warrior Games, which he thanked the U.S. for starting.
"When I was in Washington in 2012, I met the small contingent of the U.K. team and hearing the stories that came back from the games really ignited something in me that made me want to broaden this to wider audiences," Harry said at the opening ceremony. It was "such a good idea by the Americans that it had to be stolen."
