Prince Harry 'Reality Show' to Air This Summer, But There's A Twist

Fox is launching a new reality competition this summer that features a very familiar face-- that of England's Prince Harry. Only Harry isn't quite himself and is actually played by an everyday Englishman named Matthew Hicks, who was made over to look like the prince, while 12 American girls compete for an engagement to the royal.

The show, entitled "I Wanna Marry 'Harry,'" is the latest from Fox and is likely to cause a great deal of amusement as the young women on the show have no idea that the Harry they're dating is not the actual Prince Harry they were hoping for. The 12 contestants were taken from American to the English countryside and housed in Englefield House in Berkshire, which resembles a palace of sorts.

The project was initially entitled "Dream Date," in order to keep the "Prince Harry" aspect out of the equation and leave it as a surprise for both the contestants and the public. The show is similar to Fox's previous series "Joe Millionaire," in which contestants were led to believe that they were competing to marry a man who was very rich but turned out to be an "everyday Joe."

"I Wanna Marry 'Harry'" is scheduled to air this summer, but the timing might be a bit ironic given that the real Prince Harry and girlfriend Cressida Bonas could be announcing their engagement around the same time. The couple has gotten much closer in recent weeks and months, and Cressida is due to meet the Queen of England at her estate in Balmoral this summer, a sign that things are definitely serious between the two.

It wasn't long after Duchess Kate met the Queen that she and Prince William formally announced their engagement, leading to much speculation that this could be the last "step" before word comes from Harry and Cressida. The former bachelor prince has settled down since his partying days in Las Vegas and now works for his grandmother in an official royal capacity and has a steady relationship with Cressida.
