PS4 and PS Vita Bundle Revealed in Print Ad for the First Time (PHOTO)
An advertisement featuring the image of the PS4 and PS Vita bundle surfaced yesterday in a print addition of MCV in the U.K.
The ad shows both the console and handheld in the Sony packaging, and also reveals that it will come with a Vita memory card. The bundle will appear in time for Christmas. See the picture here.
The package is rumored to be called the PS4 and PS Vita "Ultimate Bundle," as just last week Sony senior product manager Ben Law hinted at the great things coming the Vita's way.
"We're really excited for Vita as we move into Christmas. We've got a great campaign with key messaging around new releases like Tearaway, the ever-growing game catalogue and the Remote Play service," he said.
There has been no announcement on whether the console will arrive in the U.S.
He also revealed to MCV that Sony was going to run a series of commercials called, "The Best Way to Play," for £2.5m. The commercial will focus on how the PS Vita integrates with the PlayStation 4 using its Tearaway technology.
The Vita will be able to be used as a second screen for certain PS4 games using a smartphone application and Remote Play mode, which lets the gamer continue playing what was on the screen on the handheld using wi-fi. According to Polygon, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, Resogun, and Diablo 3 use this feature.
Initially there was some confusion about the Vita as a controller option for the PS4, and Sony executive Shuhei Yoshida clarified the information on Twitter a few months ago.
"HEY BRO!... Could you tell us if the PS Vita 'The Ultimate companion' Can be used as a second controller on the PS4?" a Twitter user asked, to which he responded, "Hey BRO! In a normal sense, no. Unless a game is specifically programmed to allow such use of PS Vita."
