Ray J Denies Releasing Kim Kardashian Diss Record
Ray Norwood Jr., who is better known as the R&B singer Ray J, is denying that his recent release "I Hit It First" is a verbal jab aimed at ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian.
Ray J, 32, appeared in an X-rated video that catapulted Kardashian's career in 2007 and recently released a song that had some speculating whether his ex-girlfriend was the topic of the tune. However, Ray J recently said that his song is nothing more than entertainment on New York City radio station Hot 97.
"It's a song, it's not about that, it's about a concept. People going way too deep," Ray J said on Hot 97 Monday. "They just gotta keep it on the surface. I'm not trying to create no war, it's all love; we're doing music."
However, the song's hook led others to believe differently, as it alludes to a woman moving on to athletes- Kardashian herself has dated NFL player Reggie Bush and married NBA player Kris Humphries.
"She might move on to rappers and ball players, but we all know I hit it first," Ray J sings on the record.
On one of the verses of the controversial record, Ray J speaks about cardinal compass points that left some questioning whether he is alluding to Kardashian's 35-year-old rapper boyfriend Kanye West.
Still, Ray J insisted that he was not trying to disrespect Kardashian or West on the record.
"It's not a war, it's not a diss song, we're just having fun," Ray J said on Hot 97. "Bring it back to the song. That's all I'm on."
Kardashian is expecting her first child with West next July.
