'Rick and Morty' Season 3 to Premiere March 2017
"Rick and Morty" ended its second season a few weeks ago, but fans need not worry because the adult animation series will reportedly come back for its third season in March 2017.
When "Rick and Morty" season 2 came to an end, viewers were left to deal with a lot of cliff-hangers that can only be closed with a third installation. While earlier reports say the release date of season 3 has not yet been finalized, there are hints that it will premiere in March 2017, according to Realty Today (RT).
There are reports saying the post-credits sequence in the show's second season finale contained hints to the season 3 premiere date. The said sequence shows Mr. Poopy Butthole having a conversation with a pizza delivery guy and he reportedly asked about the cliff-hangers in the last episode of season 2. The last remark in the video has been taken as a clue to the return of the adult TV animation series, the report details.
"Tune in to Rick and Morty Season 3 in like a year and a half or longer to see how we unravel this mess," RT quotes Mr. Poopy Butthole's statement at the end of the video.
Unlike other TV shows, "Rick and Morty" does not have a regular schedule, thus the March 2017 premiere of season 3 will most likely come to pass. It took a year and three months before season 2 came out after season 1 ended, and this time frame is not far from the "year and a half or longer" mentioned in the post-credits sequence, Master Herald reports.
Meanwhile, Harmon teased a few details about "Rick and Morty" season 3. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he said Mr. Meeseeks will surely be featured in the show's next installation.
Adult Swim had earlier confirmed that "Rick and Morty" has been renewed for another season, so fans are now waiting for the announcement about season 3's release date.
