Rihanna Vogue Italia Woman of the Year for Second Time

Rihanna has been named Vogue Italia's Woman of the Year 2012, which her second year in a row of taking the award.

The news breaks just as Rihanna was featured on the new Harper's Bazaar cover, where she also gives a personal interview about her thoughts and experiences of love, as well as her sky-rocketing career. The Rihanna cover for Harper's Bazaar comes in the August edition of the popular magazine.

Vogue Italia meanwhile decided that Rihanna deserved to retain her crown as their Woman of the Year, describing her "generosity, kind spirit and non-conformity" and for "constantly growing from an artistic point of view."

The award has delighted her fans who immediately took to social networking sites to praise and congratulate the singer.

"Congrats Riri! Here's to three in row next year," said JBashTag.

Jonny4Rihanna posted, "Fantastic news, i love this girl. Well deserved for a hard working, hard partying star."

Rihanna has also hit the headlines in recent weeks over her past relationship with Chris Brown that ended in scandal when he beat her. In Rihanna's Harper's Bazaar piece she speaks about her heartbreak, saying: "When I was in love, I fell so hard. I was really, really, really in love. The way it made me feel was priceless. And in a blink of an eye my whole life changed. Everything that I knew was different. I never thought I'd feel that pain in my life. I'm afraid of feeling that again."

However, that relationship with Brown has continually resurfaced for the star since then. Rihanna even highlighted their relationship again by bringing him into the remix of her "Birthday Cake" song. Regarding that she said, "I understood that people had every right to be concerned about it. But I didn't see it that way because I'm in a different place."
