Robin Thicke's Mother Reveals Problem With Miley Cyrus' Performance

Miley Cyrus' MTV VMA performance with fellow singer Robin Thicke did not only shock her fans, but also Thicke's own mother who has spoken out about the younger former Disney star.

Cyrus, the 20-year-old actress and recording artist, caused a stir during her MTV Video Music Awards performance, when she stripped down to a nude bikini while gyrating on married R&B singer Thicke, 36. However, Thicke's mother and actress Gloria Loring was not amused.

Loring thought Cyrus missed the mark she was trying to reach with her performance.

"I don't understand what Miley Cyrus is trying to do," the former Days of Our Lives actress told Yahoo omg! INSIDER. "I think she's misbegotten in this attempt of hers. And I think it was not beneficial."

Thicke's mother admitted that she had no idea what Cyrus and her son were trying to accomplish when the young singer touched the R&B star inappropriately during a remixed rendition of his song "Blurred Lines."

"I didn't get what her point was," Loring said. "It was so over the top as to almost be a parody of itself."

Loring admitted that she had a hard time getting the image out of her head.

"I just keep thinking of her mother and father watching this. Oh, Lord, have mercy. … I was not expecting her to be putting her butt that close to my son," Thicke's mother admitted to OMG! Insider. "The problem is now I can never 'unsee' it."

However, Cyrus did not seem to mind that her performance had garnered so much attention even if it was for the wrong reasons.

"Smilers! My VMA performance had 306.000 tweets per minute," Miley tweeted to over 13 million Twitter followers Monday. "That's more than the blackout or Superbowl! #fact."
