Ryan Lochte Wants $750,000 to Be on ABC's 'The Bachelor'?
Ryan Lochte, the 11-time Olympic medalist, reportedly wants at least $750,000 to appear on ABC's "The Bachelor," according to new reports.
The swimmer, who recently won gold in the men's 400-meter individual medley at the London 2012 games, has reportedly been bombarded with endorsement deals since his widely applauded run at the Olympics and his agents are allegedly in talks with the ABC network to secure a lucrative deal.
"Ryan's agents are getting besieged with offers and deals, everything from The Bachelor, his own reality show, and some overseas movies," a source close to the situation told RadarOnline.com.
"Ryan is acutely aware that he has to attach himself to the right projects and endorsements that won't do damage to his all American image. As much as he'd like to do it, Ryan does have some reservations about The Bachelor because he wouldn't have any control on how he is portrayed on the show," the insider added.
Although the 28-year-old has been linked to various women, including Australian swimmer Blair Evans and Vh1 reality TV star Kimberly Michelle Pate, he is reportedly single and evidently searching for the right woman.
The reports of a potential gig with ABC come just weeks after the 28-year-old's mother, Ileana, insisted that he really has no time for love and only enjoys one night stands.
In at least two media interviews, Lochte's mother painted her son as a playboy with no time for commitment, which has led to questions about whether he would be suitable as the next Bachelor.
"He goes out on one-night stands," Ileana said during a recent interview with Today.com "He's not able to give fully to a relationship because he's always on the go."
In a separate interview, she openly suggested that her son is not interested in commitment, particularly due to alleged time constraints.
"He's too busy! He's so warmhearted that I don't think he'd want to have a relationship with somebody. I don't think he wants to get into a relationship. It just wouldn't be fair to the girl. He doesn't have the time," she explained to Us Magazine.
In addition to his potential gig on "The Bachelor," Lochte recently began shooting scenes for his guest spot appearance on The CW's "90210" after landing the acting gig shortly after the London Games. He appears opposite AnnaLynne McCord, 25, and Josh Zuckerman, 27.
