Samantha Brick: Daily Mail Writer Has No Regret Over 'Hated for Being So Beautiful' Article
Samantha Brick, an award-winning TV producer, journalist and writer has caused an uproar with an article written in yesterday's Daily Mail. Brick wrote a piece explaining why women hate her for being "so beautiful." Now, though, her attitude has changed and she has written a new piece describing the backlash her piece caused.
What began as an innocent piece explaining the perils of being beautiful has now escalated to all-out outrage over Brick's piece.
According to The Daily Mail, it was one of the most read and commented pieces ever posted on its site. "Whenever I've asked what I've done to deserve such [special] treatment, the donors of these gifts have always said the same thing: my pleasing appearance and pretty smile made their day," she wrote.

"If you're a woman reading this, I'd hazard that you've already formed your own opinion about me, and it won't be very flattering. For while many doors have been opened (literally) as a result of my own looks, just as many have been metaphorically slammed in my face-and usually by my own sex."
Now, though, Brick is again playing the part of the victim, decrying the numerous comments and reaction to her piece. "The past 24 hours have been, to be blunt, among the most horrendous of my life. But then, the 4,510 people who have left comments on Mail Online, and the thousands who have done the same on Twitter, would probably say that it's all my own fault," she wrote in an article today.
Many state that Brick wrote the piece mainly to bring more attention to herself. "All I see is a below average looking woman crying out for attention. An appalling attitude, nothing to be proud of," Raniator wrote on Mail Online.
Other users have said that while Brick is brave for "expressing confidence which many women lack. As a woman myself, I see both sides of the story but at least she had the courage to share her story!!!" wrote user The Right Place.
"Yes, I have cried on and off all day," Brick wrote in the latest article. "But do I regret my article? Not at all. I know women reading this will think I deserve to be attacked again, but why should I be? Yes, I'm a good looking woman, albeit one that has feelings, too."
