Samsung Galaxy Nexus Release Date: Galaxy Nexus Smartphone is Leaked

A leaked photo detailing the features and specs of Samsung's next smartphone model has apparently leaked.

Via the Japanese site Blog of Mobile, Android Central posted up a photo and full spec spread of the Galaxy Nexus smartphone. Japanese cellphone carrier NTT DoCoMo is said to be the retailer that the picture originated from.

These are the specs that are displayed on the ad for the Galaxy Nexus: a 4.65-inch AMOLED screen, dimensions of 5.4 x 2.7 x 0.45 inches, a weight of 4.8 ounces, 32GB ROM, 1GB RAM and a 1750 mAh battery.

The Galaxy Nexus is said to also sport Bluetooth 3.0 + HS features. It will also be compatible with CDMA, GSM, LTE, HSPA, EDGE and EV-DO.

Some of the other specifications seen in the photo confirm some past rumors about the Galaxy Nexus smartphone.

Those specs are the smartphone's curved screen, NFC support, dual-core Texas Instruments OMAP 4460 processor running at 1.2GHz, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and HD video-recording capabilities.

Several users of Japanese forums have also come across another image of the Galaxy Nexus in NTT DoCoMo's 2011 and 2012 lineup.

News of today's photo leak behind the Galaxy Nexus comes before tonight's anticipated live Samsung-Google media event.

Later tonight at 10 PM EST time Google and Samsung will stream their announcement of Android 4.0 "Ice Cream Sandwich" and, hopefully, the Samsung Nexus Prime out of Hong Kong.

The event was previously scheduled for Oct. 11 in San Diego, California.

Last Friday, however, the companies announced plans to delay the event. This cancellation was said to be done out of respect for Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, who died on Oct. 5.

Google previewed Android 4.0, "Ice Cream Sandwich" at the Google I/O conference last May.

Last month, Google chairman Eric Schmidt accidentally let it slip at Salesforce.com's Dreamforce press conference that Android 4.0 would be released sometime in "October or November."
