Samsung Galaxy Nexus Release Date: Verizon to Offer Device in Coming Months
Wireless carrier Verizon will release the new Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus without the word “exclusive,” according to a press release.
Verizon stated that the new Galaxy Nexus will arrive “later this year” but the exact release date is not known.
The Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus will be the first Android Ice Cream Sandwich device. It will come with Verizon’s faster LTE or Long Term Evolution data technology.
The newest Ice Cream Sandwich operating system will feature a redesigned user interface, Face Unlock, Zero Shutter Lag, Built-in Camera App with tools, intuitive user interface featuring unified application and widgets tray, support for HD touchscreen and support for tablet and smartphone.
The Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus will come with 1.2GHz dual-core Arm Cortex A9 Texas Instruments SoC (processor), 1GB of RAM, Android 4.0, 5-megapixel primary camera with zero shutter lag, a front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera for video chat applications and a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD screen.
The Long Term Evolution technology has a faster data speed and is offered by Verizon Wireless and AT&T. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus can connect to the internet via HSPA + or LTE, with Verizon’s variant of the device feature 4G LTE.
