Samsung Galaxy Nexus Release Plagued by Audio Issues (VIDEO)
U.K. owners of Samsung's Galaxy Nexus are experiencing audio issues with the newly released smartphone, The Christian Post has found out.
The Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich enabled device is suffering from a bug that deals with its volume. The audio volume tends to drop out and go completely silent on its own.
Another issue with the smartphone is the apparent unresponsiveness of the volume key and the power key.
Several owners of the Galaxy Nexus have taken to Samsung's U.K. Facebook page to voice their concerns with its audio problems.
Shane McSweeney said, "Please update us about the Galaxy nexus, It really is unusable. It sounds like a hardware problem to me since just lightly pressing the volume button causes it to go INSANE!"
Wojciech Musiałkiewicz, "Samsung, please give us any information about the Galaxy Nexus Volume problems. It is really upsetting to spend 550 pounds on a phone and not be able to make calls normally!"
Greyfox Dna, "It's really odd because when I'm on 3G it's fine. If i change the setting to 2G only, the volume goes nuts. I'm thinking it's more of a software bug; otherwise it would happen under 3G as well."
Android developer's forum XDA Developers is currently compiling information on these issues from several owners of the smartphone. The forum's early analysis suggests that the volume bug affects the smartphone while in 2G connections. This issue also seems to have an effect on models that use 900MHz for 2G coverage.
These models are primarily the main ones being sold in the U.K. at the moment, so several buyers of the device may be suffering right now.
This new problem for Samsung's smartphone may hurt its overall sales in Europe and possibly hurt it when it eventually makes its way to the U.S. The U.S. launch date is rumored to be on Dec. 8 of this year.

Samsung hasn't offered its customers any official word on this tech issue as of yet. A software update could be the safe bet when it comes to putting an end to the Galaxy Nexus' volume and power key issues.
