Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Release Date Set for Early October
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will ship in the 40th week of the year, according to confirmed reports by the company.
The device is listed under the model number N7100 in Samsung's database and will officially be available to customers at that time which is also the first week of October.
This data happens to line up perfectly with the next-generation Note's unveiling, set to take place this week.
A representative from Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy Note 2 will be unveiled at an "Unpacked" event at the end of August.
"We plan to unveil the next Galaxy Note at the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event in Berlin on Aug. 29," a spokesperson for the company told Reuters.
The event is Samsung's second of the year and it will take place in Berlin at 7 p.m. local time just two days before IFA officially kicks off.
Along with the new Galaxy Note, Samsung is also expected to unveil the Galaxy Tab 11.8 at the event. Both devices are expected to make a splash and carry the company into this year's Christmas shopping season.
With the Galaxy Note 2 on the way and the staying power of the Samsung Galaxy S3, this holiday shopping season should be quite interesting since customers have such a wide selection of quality devices to choose from.
The Galaxy Note 2 is rumored to feature a 5.5-inch unbreakable display along with a faster processor and more powerful camera. The company appears to be pitting the device directly against Apple's iPhone 5 and iPad Mini that are expected to launch around the same time.
Samsung was able to use the original Galaxy Note to catapult itself to the front of the smartphone market, selling double Apple's iPhone sales last year. The release of the new Note should reinvigorate the line that has already been quite successful.
