Samsung Galaxy S2 HD Release Date Coming Soon
Samsung is planning to release a high definition version of the Galaxy S2 smartphone sometime in the near future, according to a memo released by British retailer Mobicity.
Mobicity is one of the first outlets to reveal the new device and also explain how the original display on the Galaxy S2 will receive a significant upgrade in size and quality with the screen at 4.65-inches and a 720p resolution.
9to5 Google reported that this device will mostly remain overseas. “American users should not get too excited, because this device most likely will not land in the United States anytime soon,” the site wrote. “It will probably first see the light of day in Europe and Australia.” After all the original Galaxy S2 dropped in the states significantly later than it did overseas.
Third party retailers are also unreliable so Mobicity may be incorrect about this device. More news on this Samsung Galaxy S2 HD should be revealed at the Mobile World Conference 2012 that takes place in just a few weeks.
This device seems quite similar to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket HD that was announced by AT&T shortly before the 2012 Consumer Electronics show began last week in Las Vegas.
The Skyrocket HD will include a removable battery, 9.27-millimeter body and a 1280x720 pixel resolution Super AMOLED display making is also 720p.
Like the original Skyrocket, this device will also run on 4G LTE networks. “Planned for availability in the coming months, the Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket HD is an elegantly designed and highly functional 4G LTE smartphone that features a 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED screen, as well as a 1.5GHz dual-core processor for ultra-smooth game play and video playback,” AT&T wrote in a recent press release.
This device and the new S2 HD launching overseas seem to be the same device in terms of specifications and screen resolution.
