Samsung Galaxy S2 Ice Cream Sandwich Update Release Coming by April
Android fans have been waiting for the Ice Cream Sandwich update on the wildly popular Samsung Galaxy S2 since the software made its way to the smartphone market via the Galaxy Nexus in Nov.ember.
Samsung has revealed that it plans to release an official ICS update for the Galaxy S2 before the end of the first quarter of 2012. What this means is that Android fans should be able to use ICS on their device sometime before the end of April.
The Nexus has already received the update, but not without its fair share of problems. Developers have also successfully ported the new software to the Samsung Galaxy S2, however they just cannot seem to get the system to operate without some bugs.

Older devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S may not receive the update due to some of its component being out of date making it difficult to use it at optimum level.
Tablet that are likely to upgrade to the software named after a frozen treat include the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, Galaxy Tab 7.7, Galaxy Tab 8.9 and the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
Tech site, Mobile Inquirer warns the even though these updates will officially be administered by Samsung, they still are not done without some complications. The site also points out that the electronics giant has failed in the past to upgrade certain devices by not even offering one.
The general consensus seems to be that Samsung feels Ice Cream Sandwich is worth offering from most of its popular devices.
The tablet/smartphone hybrid device named the Samsung Galaxy Note is also expected to receive the upgrade around the same time it is available for the Samsung Galaxy S2. The S2 is a popular line that has inspired two variants of it to launch such at the Galaxy S2 Skyrocket and the upcoming Skyrocket HD. ICS is likely to make its way to all of these.
