Samsung Galaxy S2 With Android 4.1, JellyBean Confirmed for Release
The Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus with Android 4.1.2, JellyBean pre-installed has finally been confirmed for release.
Samsung will launch the beefed up version of its wildly popular handset in the near future and it will come with Android 4.1.2, JellyBean out of the box.
The device will be powered by a Broadcom chipset with a dual-core Cortex-A9 processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 1GB RAM. It will also come with the same WVGA Super AMOLED Plus screen as the original Galaxy S2 that launched in 2011.
Other specifications on the Galaxy S2 Plus include an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p video recording, a 2-megapixel front camera, 3G connectivity, Bluetooth, dual-band Wi-Fi, 8GB of built-in storage, and a microSD card slot for memory expansion.
NFC (near-field-communications) will also be optional for the Galaxy S2 Plus. Without NFC, the device will measure in at 8.5mm thick while the NFC-ready version will be slightly thicker at 8.9mm.
The model number for the NFC version will be GT-I9105P while the non-NFC enabled version's number will be GT-I9105.
The other dimensions for the handset are 125.3 x 66.1 regardless of whether the model features NFC or not. These are the same measurements as those featured on the original version. However, it is a bit heavier than the old Galaxy S2 as it weighs 121g. The battery is the same as the old version with 1650mAh capacity.
This is the second "Plus" variant that Samsung has released in its Galaxy S line. The company also launched the Galaxy S Plus not too long ago.
The Galaxy S2 Plus will run Android 4.1.2 and is expected to arrive in the first quarter of 2013. It will be available in two colors including Chic White and Dark Blue.
