Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.1.2, JellyBean Update Status Page Now Available
The Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.1.2, JellyBean update began rolling out this week to the international version of the smartphone.
The update brings many new features and bug fixes. It is available through Samsung KIES and OTA (over-the-air).
Samsung also released a status page for this Android 4.1.2 roll out, which shows what countries it is currently available in.
The list reveals that the update can now be accessed in Poland and will be coming to other countries in the near future. The Galaxy S3 update in Poland is the version on the carrier known as XEO.
Screenshots of the Galaxy S3 running Android 4.1.2 started to surface last month. The software brings the multi-view mode currently available on the Galaxy Note 2 to the Galaxy S3.
Major carriers in the U.S. such as AT&T are slightly behind the international version and have starting rolling out the Android 4.1.1, JellyBean update this week.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.1.1, JellyBean update became available to AT&T customers yesterday.
This is not an OTA (over-the-air) update and must be accessed using Samsung KIES software on a computer.
In order to update the S3 on AT&T, users must first install the latest version of KIES on their PC or Mac and then connect the smartphone to the computer.
After this step, users can then watch this KIES instructional video that will show them how to update their firmware step by step.
Once the update procedure is completed, the Galaxy S3 should be running the Android 4.1.1 build of JellyBean and the latest TouchWiz UI available for the smartphone.
