Samsung Galaxy S4 UK Release Date Pushed Back to April 27
The Samsung Galaxy S4 U.K. release date has been pushed back to April 27.
The device was originally expected to hit stores on April 26, but was delayed for unknown reasons, according to personnel from the Samsung Stratford Westfield store. The retailer is normally the first to offer new Samsung devices in the U.K.
The Galaxy S4 will be released on seven carriers in the U.S.
Although it was previously common knowledge that it would land on the major ones such as AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint, Samsung has announced plans for three more in a new press release.
Along with those companies, carriers such as U.S. Cellular, Cricket and C Spire will also offer the Galaxy S4.
"The Galaxy S line of smartphones has achieved momentous success with 100 million in unit sales worldwide in less than three years. This validates that we are addressing what consumers want from a smartphone," said Dale Sohn, President of Samsung Telecommunications America. "The fourth generation of Samsung's flagship device builds upon the tradition of excellence and provides consumers with even more innovation that simplifies and redefines the way individuals will interact with their Galaxy S4."
Sprint revealed its plans to begin offering the Samsung Galaxy S4 on April 27 yesterday.
The carrier announced the news earlier and is excited that this new Samsung flagship will be available in the very near future.
"Galaxy S4 is packed with incredible new features that will benefit from unlimited data plans on the Sprint 4G LTE network," said Fared Adib, Senior Vice President of Product Development at Sprint.
Pre-orders for the Galaxy S4 on Sprint started on April 18. The 16GB version will retail for $249.99 with a new line or eligible upgrade and 2-year service agreement. It will hit stores April 27 and will come in two colors: White Frost and Black Mist.
