Samsung Offers Free Battery Kit to Galaxy Nexus Buyers on Verizon Website
Samsung began running a great promotion for customers who purchase a Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone through Verizon's website.
The company is offering a free Galaxy Nexus i5i5 Battery Bundle Kit with the purchase of a Galaxy Nexus with a 2-year contract through Verizon.
The kit is normally priced around $50 and provides customers with a back casing that is compatible with the 21mAh battery included in the bundle. The new power pack reportedly gives the device an extra 10 percent of battery life.
This is a great incentive for those who are on the fence about purchasing a Galaxy Nexus.
The smartphone is still currently available exclusively through Verizon in the U.S. It is rumored to be coming to Sprint in the near future.
It launched on Verizon in Dec. of 2011 and is the flagship device for Google's latest operating software, Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich.
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus features a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED display that is 1280x720 pixels, 16GB of internal memory, 1GB of RAM for increased speed, a dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9 CPU, a 5-megapixel rear camera, NFC (near-field communications), and 4G LTE connectivity.
The Verge called it the "greatest Android device to be released thus far."
Samsung and Google unveiled the Galaxy Nexus back in October of last year at the Mobile Unpacked event where Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich also made its debut.
The Galaxy Nexus features one of the largest displays on the market and makes for the perfect device to take advantage of Android 4.0.
There have also been rumors stating that Samsung was planning to release a white variant of the Galaxy Nexus along with a version that comes with 32GB of internal memory.
However, these models have yet to be released by any carrier.
