Sean Lowe 'Doesn't Like the Fame Aspect' of Reality TV, But Joins 'DWTS'
"Bachelor" Sean Lowe just finished watching his proposal to fiancée Catherine Giudici and is now set to compete on "Dancing With The Stars." But don't be fooled- Lowe has said he "doesn't like the fame aspect" of being on either show.
"I've always said that I'm not looking for fame. In fact, I don't like the fame aspect of being the 'Bachelor' or being on 'Dancing With The Stars.' I wish I could– you know, I can't go out in Dallas with my buddies anymore because I'm left taking pictures the whole night because people – you know, they recognize me and they want to take pictures," Lowe told reporters on a conference call.
Yet it hasn't stopped Lowe from appearing on two seasons of "Bachelor" or making the surprising announcement that he would be on the upcoming season of "Dancing With The Stars." If one wants to try and have a more normal life, then why commit to yet another reality show?
"I don't want the fame itself, but when an opportunity like 'Dancing With The Stars' comes along, it's too good to pass up. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I wouldn't have taken it had Catherine not been okay with it. She is fully supporting me. She's in my corner. She's going to be along in this crazy ride with me," Lowe explained.
"I want to spend as much time as I can with him and I am his biggest fan," Giudici said. "So I'll be front and center cheering him on, and Peta [Murgatroyd] of course."
The new season of "DWTS" starts on Monday, March 18. Lowe will be squaring off against professional athletes and Olympians as well as performers such as Wynona Judd and D.L. Hughley.
"At some point, we want to have a life with some normalcy to it. That's not to say, I mean, opportunities may pop up that are just great and we might feel that they're great for us as a couple," Lowe explained. "I think after 'Dancing With The Stars,' there's a good chance we'll head to Dallas or go somewhere and resume a normal life."
The couple is planning on getting married sooner rather than later and will most likely have their wedding televised.
