The National Song Search brings exciting possibilities for the observance of the National Day of Prayer in 2006, says Jim Weidmann, Vice Chairman of the National Day of Prayer Task Force. Each year, our National Day of Prayer theme song has been a powerful way to call Gods people to pray to our nation. We trust this years song will ultimately remind all of us, America, Honor God!
The winning song submission, which will be selected by a panel of music industry professionals, will be recorded in Nashville by Dove-award winning producer Don Koch and incorporated into a National Day of Prayer music video. It will also be used for all activities surrounding the National Day of Prayer, including Public Service Announcements on major national media.
Songs must be submitted by Sept. 26. Both amateur and professional songwriters are welcome to participate.
The National Day of Prayer will be observed on Thursday, May 4, 2006. The theme, America, Honor God is based on Bible verse I Samuel 2:30, Those who honor Me, I will honor.
