Selena Gomez' Grandfather Talks Justin Bieber Marrying Singer, Relationship Issues
Selena Gomez' grandfather is opening up about the singer's relationship with on-and-off again love interest Justin Bieber.
Gomez, 21, and Bieber, 20, officially announced they were dating in 2011 before officially breaking things off last year. While their relationship status has not been confirmed of late, Bieber has been spotted romantically linked numerous women in recent weeks.
Now, Selena's grandfather Ricardo Gomez, 59, is telling Radar Online that her family is worried about the singer's relationship with Bieber.
"We worry … I think she loves him. They still go out," Ricardo told Radar Online. "We [have known] him since he started and he was the real bright young man."
Although Bieber bonded with Gomez' grandfather and grandmother Mary in their Texas home previously, Ricardo told the publication that he has since changed.
"He was just a nice little fella. Totally different from what he is right now. … It just makes me feel upset because he used to be a real nice boy," Ricardo told Radar Online. "We worry not just because of the relationship with Selena. We worry for him. We hate to see him in trouble."
Selena's grandfather reportedly revealed that the singer decided to distance herself from Bieber romantically after he started dabbling in drug use.
"Selena was telling us that she didn't want to be with him because of what he was doing lately, and that he was getting into drugs and that was something that she [doesn't] like," Ricardo reportedly told Radar Online. "Lately we are upset about his behavior ... We blame it on the people they hang around with, his friends are bad influences."
While Ricardo insists that Bieber could do better with his life, he was not opposed to his famous granddaughter marrying the Canadian crooner.
"I think she loves him. We'd be happy [if Justin proposed] because she's happy with him," Ricardo said, according to Radar Online reports."She knows that whatever she decides to do, I mean we stay behind her."
Bieber previously opened up about his feeling on marriage, as well as revealing that he would like to remain friends with his ex-girlfriends.
"My grandparents Bruce and Diane Dale [are my relationship role models]," he told Us Weekly last year. "They love each other so much, after so many years! When I'm their age, I want to be as in love with my wife as my grandfather is with his."
