Sheryl Crow on Lance Armstrong: Singer Refuses to Reveal Private Interview Details

Sheryl Crow was interviewed on Lance Armstrong's alleged connection to illegal doping, according to new reports. Federal agents apparently spoke with Crow when investigating claims of illegal drug use by Armstrong.

However, both Crow and federal agents have refused to speak out on any of the details of the conversations and have not given any indication about what information was given.

According to a new report, it is claimed that Crow spoke with agents in 2011 when their investigations were ongoing. It is alleged that the agents asked the singer about what she knew about the cyclist's alleged use of illegal substances.

Crow has refused to ever publicly criticize or speak out against her ex-boyfriend, and she has taken a similar stance in this case. She has respected Armstrong's privacy and has no interest in publicly undermining him or his achievements.

The Food and Drug Administration criminal investigator Jeff Novitzky, Attorney Jay Cooper and unnamed lawyers for Lance Armstrong have all declined to offer any indication about what Crow might have said, according to the New York Daily News. Such is the secrecy of the conversations it is unclear whether she even gave any insight or information at all to aid the investigations into Armstrong's alleged drug abuse.

Armstrong and Crow dated between 2003 and 2006 and were engaged at one point, although they never married. The period they were a couple is a period in which the cyclist is being penalized for "allegedly participated in doping programs."

Armstrong has vehemently denied the allegations and has repeated stated he has never taken part in any illegal doping or performance enhancing drug use. However, he has refused to continue the battle against the allegations, saying he does not feel the need to wage a potentially long term battle against his accusers. His refusal to continue to fight the allegations though has led to him being stripped of all seven of his Tour de France titles, and has been banned from professional cycling for life.
