Should Christians celebrate Halloween? 5 reactions
Mark Driscoll
Christians have three choices when it comes to Halloween and how they want to respond to the day, according to Pastor Mark Driscoll. In a video message in October 2016, the senior pastor at the Trinity Church in Arizona said Christians can "receive, reject or redeem” when it comes to Halloween.
"You may be wanting me to tell you 'yes' or 'no,' but I really think this is something to study through, to pray through,” Driscoll said, sharing that he and his wife leaned toward rejecting Halloween when they first married.
"As our kids have gotten a little older, we have gotten into the position of redeem; and we couldn't with everything that goes on in the holiday just receive it all. That's where we are at personally in our conscience," he explained.
When observing certain events, the pastor said Christians need to ask themselves: "How do we stay faithful to God and loving to people?"
