South Carolina's Healing Springs Point to Paradise
What if there was a spring of water right here in the United States which contained supernatural healing power? Some folks seem to think such a spring actually exists, and that it is located in Blackville, South Carolina. In order to reach this fountain of youth, you must drive about an hour south of Columbia, and then enter the woods in your quest to reach these natural springs.
God's Acre Healing Springs sits on land which was actually deeded to God in 1944. And the water which flows from nearby artesian wells has built up quite a reputation. It all began back in 1781 during the Revolutionary War when four soldiers were left for dead, but were then nursed back to health with water from these springs.
Others have since claimed to experience remarkable health and healing after drinking this water. "This is all my dad drank, and he lived to 90," said Walter Tobin, who grew up nearby. And he has seen people flock to the springs with their buckets and bottles. Barnwell County installed about a dozen taps a foot off the ground that flow constantly. The Department of Health and Environmental Control even tests the water, and recently gave this water its highest rating.
"There's just something about this place. People for hundreds of years can't be wrong," Steve Galik said. "It's about as close as I think you can get to the Garden of Eden."
While I don't know what healing truly exists in the springs of South Carolina, I do know about a wellspring of living water which flows into the soul when a person receives Jesus as Savior. The Lord compared the water of this world to the water He offers when He said, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." (John 4:13,14)
Jesus also said, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified. (John 7:37-39)
You may never make it to the springs of South Carolina, but I sure hope you come to enjoy the streams of living water which Jesus brings into a person's soul. It will definitely satisfy your spiritual thirst. And it results in everlasting life for anyone who drinks it. No kidding. After all, would the Lord say such a thing if it wasn't true?
So here is where that leaves you. There are only two options. You can choose to drink God's living water, or not. If you do, you will live forever in heaven. But if you decline God's gracious offer, your soul will remain thirsty forever and you will miss out on everlasting life in paradise.
Would you like to drink from these heavenly streams? Do you want to receive the free gift of everlasting life? It's not complicated. It simply takes faith. Just place your trust in Christ to forgive your sins and save your soul. And as you turn away from sin and toward Jesus, the river of life will begin flowing within you. Through spiritual conversion, a "spigot" of sorts is instantly turned on in your soul.
Nothing on earth compares to drinking the water of God. In the words of the prophet Isaiah, "With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation." (Isaiah 12:3)
South Carolina's Healing Springs point to paradise. These springs not only offer crystal clear water to those who travel there, but they also remind people of what God does everyday through the gift of water. Our body needs water, but so does our soul. God said so.
The apostle John was given a glimpse of the water of heaven. He wrote, "Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations." (Revelation 22:1,2)
Are you headed toward that wonderful city? In other words, are you planning to enter paradise after your body dies? If so, drink up. You will need God's water for your trip. In fact, it's the only way to safely arrive there. (see Acts 4:12 and John 14:6)
I sure am glad heaven is real. Aren't you?
