Stephen Baldwin, Media Team Launch '2012 in 2012' Effort to Feed Orphans

Actor Stephen Baldwin has teamed up with talk show host and "Secret Millionaire" alumna Dani Johnson in an effort to feed orphans around the world in a campaign called "2012 in 2012," Baldwin announced Monday.

Baldwin and conservative commentator Kevin McCullough are using their talk show media conglomerate, XtreMEDIA, to launch the project "to rescue 2012 orphans in the year of 2012." They are teaming up with Christian ministries King's Ransom Foundation and Food for Orphans for the project.

"When I toured the places these children sleep and live in, I couldn't help but be moved to do something about it. My whole family saw with our own eyes children who were dying or would die soon, simply because they had no food," stated Baldwin in the announcement from XtreMEDIA.

"It is imperative to me, my media company, my family, my business partners, and every one I come into contact with to let them know how vital $.25 can be. It can literally feed a meal to a child-who literally-will die without it," he added.

On Saturday, Baldwin (@StephenBaldwin7) tweeted, "Hey Y'all Pls check out, then RT 2012in2012.info this campaign 2 feed orphans goes global, Monday ! thanks & God Bless !!! Stevie B."

Johnson, who is also a bestselling author and president of a personal achievement and corporate training company, stressed the importance of prioritizing where one spends their money and to include investing in the lives of orphans.

"One of the things my clients and listeners get from me all the time is the absolute necessity to put purpose to our money," states Johnson. "It is of absolute urgency that we love these kids as best we can. And every single day we will blow cash on the most idiotic things in this world, why can't we take even ten percent of that and feed children who will die unless we do? Two families have already committed to me that they will raise enough to feed 100 orphans each. I honor them and the children they will feed. But there is much, much, more to do."

McCullough, who often appears on Fox News as a political commentator, said the partnership with the two ministries can help the global orphan problem.

"I've stared into the eyes of orphans in Eastern Europe, West Africa, and Central America, and though the geography is different, the one thing that never changes is how helpless they are to be able to feed themselves," McCullough said. "Our partners are delivering life healing food for the rate of feeding an orphan for an entire year, for just $92 – this is how simple it is to save a life? How can we get more people involved? How can we rescue more children? These questions haunt me each night..."

The Colorado Springs, Colo.,-based ministry Food for Orphans states that they can make a difference with their program.

"When we deliver the recipe to the orphans we see a light come on in their eyes. And as we feed them over time, we see them succeeding at life," said the group's founder and CEO Gary Van Dyke. "There is no greater feeling in this life than to hand a child who is hungry a bowl full of rice, chicken, vegetables, beans, and seventeen specific vitamins and nutrients that food scientists told us are extremely deficient in orphans bodies."

The King's Ransom Foundation based in Kerrville, Texas states that it "extends 100% of its attention and proceeds to those who hurt, who are hungry, and who are in desperate need."

"King's Ransom Foundation is eager to join forces with the '2012 in 2012' campaign aiming to feed 2012 orphans in 2012. And because of this principle that we hold to, we've decided to match every gift given through the website," said Cindy McFaden of KRF.

McCullough is calling upon all forms of media to help with the campaign.

"If you are a television, radio, or new media personality who has a passion to help hungry kids, we would love for you to join us in this amazing quest," McCullough said. "We will link arm in arm with anyone and everyone who is moved to do this, to be part of it, and to see orphans fed."
