'Stranger Things' Latest News: Will Byers to Have More 'Sinful Role' in Season 2, Says Show Creator
With a little over a month before "Stranger Things" returns for a second season, more details on its key characters are being revealed.
In an interview with Us Weekly, co-creator Ross Duffer shared some interesting details on the character of Will Byers, played by Noah Schnapp.
"Noah is just an incredible actor and he really didn't get a lot to do season 1," said Duffer. "So we're excited about that," he added. It can be recalled that Byers spent most of season 1 trapped in the Upside Down, until he was freed toward the end of the season.
Duffer confirmed that Byers will have a "much more sinful role, which we're really excited about." As far as what is in store for the fans this upcoming season, Matt Duffer shared some of his insights. "It's not too heavy, in terms of horror. So that's why we wanted to push it a little bit. We've gotten the kids comfortable," explained Matt.
To balance out things, Matt said they are looking to up the ante a little bit and freak out the young cast. "That's the goal. We'll see if we're successful or not," he said.
Earlier this month, ScreenRant reported that the Duffer Brothers are encouraging the fans to adjust the settings of their TV for season 2. The brothers pointed out in an interview with Vulture that a good number of HD TV sets have a particular setting that irks them, and they want the fans to turn it off before watching Season 2.
"The key thing is to turn off anything that says 'motion. 'TruMotion.' 'Smooth motion,'" said Matt. He said that he constantly fixes the TV sets of his friends just to get the settings right. "Us and everyone in Hollywood puts so much time and effort and money into getting things to look just right. And when you see it in someone's home, it looks like it was shot on an iPhone," he added.
The report said that though the setting aims to reduce motion blur, it leaves a "soap-opera effect" on "Stranger Things." This is because the show is shot on film, rather than on video for that classic 80s look and vibe.
"Stranger Things" returns on Oct. 27 on Netflix.
