'Super Mario Odyssey' Download File Size Revealed
Some games turn out big, even before they are officially released. Despite the huge anticipation for Nintendo's "Super Mario Odyssey," the same cannot be said concerning its download file size.
According to a NintendoEverything report, the size of the digital version of the upcoming game is a mere 5.7 GB. The size is far less than what observers expected, considering that the game is a triple A title for the gaming giant. Moreover, Nintendo's official Japanese store also revealed the game's file size in its product listing page.
Compared to other marquee titles from Switch, the game comes out bigger, according to Gamespot. "Splatoon 2," for example, comes in a 3.1 GB while "Arms" is pegged at 2.2 GB. Furthermore, Nintendo's last Mario 3D game, "Super Mario 3D World," only has a file size of 1.7 GB when it was released for the Wii console.
Earlier this month, the company announced during a Nintendo Direct broadcast that they will release a "Super Mario Odyssey"-themed Switch bundle. The package includes all the works: the main Switch console, a physical copy of the video game, red Joy-Cons, and a special carrying case. The case comes in red and carries a design of a map with markings to complete the look.
Moreover, Nintendo also revealed some details on the game itself, together with the upcoming Amiibo figures. They also put the spotlight on the game's new feature called the Photo Mode, which allows players to capture screenshots of their actual gameplay.
The feature also offers significant room for flexibility and mobility, thanks to its zoom-in and zoom-out features that can be performed in practically all angles. Additionally, the feature also comes with different filters that allow players to showcase their screenshots in several different looks and styles.
Anticipation for "Super Mario Odyssey" is quite high, considering the impact it has been making as of late. During the Gamescom 2017 event held in Germany,
