Super Smash Bros 4 Rumors: Pokemon X and Y Character Xerneas on the Roster? (PICTURE)
Super Smash Bros 4 director, Masahiro Sakurai, has hinted at the possibility of a new Pokemon from X and Y coming to the game.
As he has done so far with all the updates, Sakurai dropped little hints with game screen shots on the Super Smash Bros 4 site. This time, he showed off a picture of Pokemon's Pikachu standing alongside Pokemon X's mascots cover character, Xerneas.
"Pic of the day. We have absolutely nothing to announce today regarding Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. Really!" he said in what seems like a sarcastic manner.

Every major character addition was announced when a corresponding game was coming out. Olimar was announced when Pikmin 3 was coming, Toon Link, with the release of Wind Waker HD, and Sonic with the coming of Sonic Lost World.
Pokemon has always been a big part of the Super Smash Bros franchise. Pikachu and Jigglypuff were in the first game, while those two and Pichu and Mewtwo were adding for Melee.
In Super Smash Bros Brawl, Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Lucario, and Pokemon Trainer were all characters. Every game has had Pokemon-themed levels and items as well.
It is uncertain if Xerneas will be a playable character but it will be in the game in some fashion.
The latest SSB reveal was a sneak peek at an upcoming level that is inspired by the New Super Mario Bros game for the DS, Wii, and Wii U.
The level will be tricky to maneuver as the battle takes place on rotating square blocks.
"Stages like this one are often seen in the New Super Mario Bros series. It means trouble," the director said via Nintendo.
The characters confirmed for the game so far are: Mario, Luigi, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Pit, Olimar, Toon Link, Princess Peach, Sonic the Hedgehog, MegaMan, Wii Fit Trainer, and the Villager.
Super Smash Bros 4 heads to the Wii U and 3DS in early 2014.
