'Supergirl' Season 3 Spoilers: Premiere Episode to Hint Mon-El's Whereabouts
While the season 2 finale of "Supergirl'' had Mon-El being transported into an unknown dimension, Chris Wood has revealed that it won't take long in the upcoming season 3 of "Supergirl "before viewers of the series will find out where his character has been brought.
The season 2 finale of "Supergirl'' featured one of the most heart-wrenching moments in the DC superhero series on The CW as Kara/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) had Mon-El boarding her space pod in order to save him from the lead in the atmosphere meant to destroy Queen Rhea (Teri Hatcher) and the Daxamites. As the space pod was eventually sucked into a wormhole, some fans thought that Mon-El was gone for good in the series.
In a recent interview, though, Wood did not only confirm that his character will still be a part of "Supergirl'' season 3 but also said that the whereabouts of his character will be known to the viewers almost immediately once the series returns.
"You know, sort of right away. Obviously, that's a central part of the story for Kara (Melissa Benoist), in terms of where he is and if she can get him back and all that. I can't say specifics on when he comes back, but there are some subtle hints that start coming in the first couple moments of the season opener, and they try to piece together what's going on. It sort of comes out of left field, his return, if you will," Wood said in a recent interview with TV Insider.
While Mon-El is set to return, Wood has, likewise, disclosed that it will not be the same character that fans of the series have learned to love. According to the actor, the mystery surrounding where his character has been transported will play an important role in bringing about the changes in Mon-El. As Wood said that the changes in his character will have Supergirl's team worrying once he returns, some can't help but suspect that Mon-El may be leaning towards the direction of being a villain.
Where did Mon-El's pod land? What big changes will the environment deliver to him? Will he become villainous in the series?
Find out when "Supergirl" season 3 begins airing over The CW beginning this Oct. 9.
