Looking ahead, teasers about the season finale of "Supernatural" indicate the first and major cliffhanger.

"We leave our guys in a situation they've never faced before, which after nine seasons, it kind of narrows it down a little bit," supervising producer Andrew Dabb revealed to E! News. "I think once they see the last frame of the last episode, I think people are going to be incredibly excited for season 10."

What new danger could Sam and Dean encounter that they have never before over the course of nine seasons? In past seasons, the Winchester brothers have faced Hell, demons, Purgatory, monsters, and even the devil himself, leaving fans even more excited for the season finale.

Show runner Jeremy Carver also commented on the season finale, promising "shocking consequences."

"All bets are off when Sam, Dean an Castiel take the fight to Metatron," he told E! News. "Uneasy alliances and brutal choices await.. all culminating in shocking consequences."

Remaining episodes of season nine include May 6's "King of the Damned" and "Stairway to Heaven" airing May 13.
