T-Mobile Happy to Receive AT&T's Unlocked iPhones
T-Mobile received exciting news yesterday when AT&T announced it would be unlocking iPhones for its customers whose contractual obligations have been fulfilled.
This means that anyone who purchased an Apple smartphone through the carrier can now bring their iPhone over to T-Mobile and use it under one of its plans with the addition of a new microSIM.
"Today we have more than one million unlocked iPhones running on our network," said a T-Mobile spokesman to 9to5Mac yesterday. "T-Mobile currently offers microSIMs for customers who already have a GSM phone they want to use on the T-Mobile network, including an iPhone."

"In order to set up an unlocked iPhone on T-Mobile's network, customers simply need to purchase a microSIM card and select a T-Mobile Value plan that suits their needs," added the carrier.
T-Mobile promises to provide customers making the jump with a cheaper price by offering its Value plans to them.
The carrier's Value family plan lets customers enjoy unlimited talk, unlimited text and unlimited data with 2GB of high-speed data for $49.99 per line for two lines.
"The $99.98 Family plan is a pretty incredible deal, especially when the lowest two-person family deal on AT&T runs about $130 (2x 3GB) before the taxman cometh," said 9to5Mac.
T-Mobile also announced that it plans to expand its high-speed 4G network and says it will be compatible with a broader range of devices including the iPhone.
T-Mobile suffered in profits after being the only major carrier in the U.S. to not receive the iPhone 4S after its launch in Oct. of 2011.
It often cited this as one of the main reasons why it was behind the other majors such as AT&T, Verizon and Sprint, the latter who began carrying the iPhone after the 4S's launch.
