Tamera Mowry-Housley Defends Herself Against Rihanna Comments

Tamera Mowry-Housley, the 35-year-old Christian actress and new co-host of the talk show "The Real," is defending herself against speculation that she recently spoke out against singer Rihanna.

Mowry-Housley recently participated in an interview with Cocoa Fab, where she cautioned people against pursuing living together with a significant other before marriage. In one of her six tips for marriage and motherhood, Rihanna was mentioned along with a quotation given by the Christian actress.

"'Like my grandmother always said, dare to be different',' says Tamera. While it's popular these days to be the Rihanna to his Chris (okay, sans the abuse fiasco), consider being different from all of the overly sexy, turnt up girls," the Cocoa Fab article reads.

Mowry-Housley decided to take to Twitter to make it clear that she never mentioned Rihanna in her interview after blogs like Bossip.com published headlines that read "Tamera Mowry Warns Women Not To Be Like Rihanna If They Want to get Wifed Up!"

"Rihanna's or Chris's name NEVER came up in that the interview ‪@mycocoafab‬ I'm so confused as to why this site would do this," Mowry-Housley questioned on Twiter. "To cause a controversy @mycocoafab that doesn't exist is NOT cool. I'm I absolutely love @rihanna!"

However, one fan pointed out that the website's statement about Rihanna was not featured in quotation marks, and served as commentary from the writer of the Mowry-Housley article. The Christian actress decided to apologize for the misunderstanding.

"@MyCocoaFab my apologies 2 U Ur interview was great (SIC)," she tweeted. "It's 2 bad another blog which I refuse 2 name put words n my mouth 2 create a headline."

Mowry-Housley is not only a wife, but a mother who previously spoke about the importance of God and her family. In the April 2013 issue of Essence magazine that is known as the "Career Success Guide Issue," Tamera spoke about being a new mother while prioritizing God in her life.

"I've always wanted to be a mother. I'm a nurturer, a girly girl," she told Essence. "I know my priorities: God, family and work … When those things are in check, the work will flow."
