Tamera Mowry-Housley Talks Proper Parenting For Amanda Bynes
Tamera Mowry-Housley, the 35-year-old actress and new co-host of the talk show "The Real," recently revealed how she would help struggling young entertainers like Amanda Bynes.
Bynes, the 27-year-old actress, has been making headlines recently for her brash statements about high profile people on Twitter that has caused many to question if drug use or behavioral issues are at hand. Mowry-Housley began her career as a 14-year-old actress with her twin sister and revealed how she remained grounded in an industry full of temptation and negative influences.
"Honestly, one, my faith has a lot to do with that, but a lot of it comes from my parents," the Christian actress said in a BET.com report recently. "If they think I am doing something I shouldn't be doing, they're going to check me."
Mowry-Housley revealed how not being able to do everything she had access to at a young age molded her.
"I don't have 'yes' people in my life," she revealed. "They always told me, "I don't care if you have 18 million. You're still not gonna buy that car, you're still not going to go to that club. You're 16 years old."
The Christian actress went on to reveal what she would do if Bynes were her daughter who has been publicly making statements that have caused some to question her mental well being.
"If Amanda Bynes were my daughter, I don't care what anybody says, I am going to get on a plane and I am going to find her and I won't sleep until I find my daughter. Then I am taking her home and we are going to work this out," Mowry-Housley told BET.com. "Yes, by force. That's what I am saying."
Mowry-Housley previously spoke about what it would take to parent a child in show business.
"I think a lot of the times parents now are not into parenting their kids. They want to be their best friend/groupie," Mowry-Housley told "Access Hollywood." "They forget that they are kids. It doesn't matter how much money they have. It doesn't mean you stop parenting your child."
