Taylor Swift Reacts to Tim Tebow Joke at ACM Awards
Amid rumors of Taylor Swift dating Tim Tebow, the country singer had a strong reaction to jokes about the NFL star at last night's ACM Awards.
The ceremony took place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas Sunday and honored today's hottest country music artists. Hosts Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire exchanged humorous dialogue before launching into comments surrounding rumors of Swift and Tebow's dating.
"How about the rumor that Tim Tebow went on a date with Taylor Swift," asked McEntire.
"Now we know what he's been praying for," Shelton replied. The camera quickly panned to Swift who looked surprised as she shrugged her shoulders with her palms up.
The gossip reports indicated that Swift and the newest member of the New York Jets had gone to dinner together. The country music star's reaction suggests that the rumors about the date are true, according to users on Twitter.
"Oh T-Swift you're just too cute," wrote one user. "And you so just confirmed that you went on a date with Tebow."
"I thought Blake Shelton's joke about Taylor Swift and Tim Tebow was funny… What's the big deal," wrote Aly.
Other Swift fans defended the singer on the social media site, accusing Shelton of going too far.
"He was making fun of Tim Tebow and Taylor Swift," wrote on fan. "It was just rude."
Swift, who earned Entertainer of the Year for the second year in a row during the night, has also been romantically linked to celebrities such as John Mayer and Jake Gyllenhaal in the past.
Early ACM Award winners of Sunday night also included Miranda Lambert with Album of the Year and Lady Antebellum with Group of the Year.
Toby Keith earned the American Country Music award for Video of the Year while Eli Young Band won Song of the Year, and Thompson Square earned Duo of the Year.
Power couple and country music superstars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill also attended the event.
The star-studded event also saw "Hunger Games" star Liam Hemsworth and actor Ashton Kutcher serve as presenters.
