Taylor Swift Wows at Brit Awards 2013

Taylor Swift has hit the red carpet at Wednesday's 2013 Brit Awards in London and wowed fans in a black gown.

The country music star is not only performing during Britain's leading music awards, but is also nominated for the International Female Solo Artist award.

Swift dazzled in a long black Elie Saab gown that featured two thigh-high sheer panels along the floor-length skirt. The 23-year-old paired the dress with a gold belt and earrings and her trademark blonde hair worn down and straightened.

The Brit Awards mark the first time Swift will be reunited with her former flame, One Direction singer Harry Styles.

Rumors about a bitter breakup between the singers arose in January, with gossip intensifying after Swift's performance at the Grammy Awards. The country music star imitated a British accent while singing her hit song "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" during the ceremony, leading many to suspect it was a jab at Styles.

Furthermore, recent reports suggested that Swift and Styles encountered tensions as they tried to avoid one another while preparing for Wednesday's awards.

Also among the nominees in Swift's Brit Awards international category are Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Lana Del Rey, and Cat Power. Top nominees of the night include Mumford & Sons, Emeli Sande, and Alt-J, who are up for three awards each. Other international nominees include the Black Keys and Fun., among others.

Often called simply the Brits, the awards show will also see live performances by some of today's top artists from the U.K. as well as many others places. Justin Timberlake, One Direction, Emeli Sande, and Mumford & Sons will all take the stage during the evening.

Meanwhile, the showrunners have admitted an error in managing Brit Award winner Adele's acceptance speech last year. As the show was running over time, Brit Awards organizers interrupted Adele as she accepted her award.

"I can hint that something is going to happen this year to right that wrong," explained Brits chairman David Joseph while speaking to The Guardian. The chairman added that he couldn't understand "what was happening in that control booth" during Adele's speech.

Adele remains very popular at the Brit Awards again this year, as she is up for the newly coined award for Global Success which recognizes international success, reported BBC.
