Tim Tebow is vying for the third string quarterback position on the Philadelphia Eagles but says he is not worried about making the 53-man roster once the official NFL season starts September 10.

"That's not something I worry about to be honest. I worry about what I can control and that's come out and improve every day, enjoy the process, count your blessings and work extremely hard," Tebow said in a www.NJ.com report after his football practice Monday. "You know something I always try to practice is be anxious for nothing, but let your request be known to God. That's how I try to handle that.''

Although it is unclear whether the quarterback will join coach Chip Kelly's Eagles team, Tebow spoke about his improved play during the preseason.

"I feel like I'm improving with the offense, with the tempo, with the footwork, with the timing,'' he said. "I just want to continue with that process. I think I'm getting better at (pocket presence), just throwing a few away, not taking sacks. Always knowing that there's the next down.''

Throughout the years, Tebow has leaned on his faith when his place in the NFL has been put into question. After being signed to the New York Jets in 2012, the athlete spoke about the uncertainty of being re-signed to the team that chose to part ways with him after one season.

"I may not know where I'm going next, but I know what's guiding me," Tebow previously said about his future in the NFL, according to Naples News.

For years Tebow, a former Heisman trophy winner, has made it clear that he is not defined by his football career. In 2013, he told Liberty University's 10,000 students that serving is more important than his NFL career.

"In the end, football is just a silly game. Greatness comes from serving," Tebow told the crowd. "... You want to be great? Be a servant. You want to be great? Humble yourself."

The athlete went on to raise questions for people at the convocation, asking about their willingness to be the best versions of themselves in God.

"You don't know when you are in your fourth quarter. You don't know how much time you have left," Tebow told the Liberty University crowd. "Are you ready? Are you willing to finish strong? Are you passionate about the Gospel? Are you willing to not be average but to be an example? Are you going to be great? Are you going to serve others? And are you willing to finish strong?"'

On his recent birthday, August 14, the quarterback tweeted about how important using his Tim Tebow Foundation as a platform to serve has been to him.

"Many blessings in my 28 yrs. Being part of 5 yrs of @tebowfoundation is one of the best!" Tebow tweeted.
