Terrell Owens: NFL Teams No Show, Owens Confident in God and Career

Terrell Owens was not bothered that none of the NFL’s teams were on-hand to witness his highly publicized workout on Tuesday, despite speculation about the end of his career. The free-agent wide receiver seemed confident that teams were interested in acquiring him.

"I definitely feel there are some teams out there that are interested," Owens said according to ESPN.

The workout marked an official return to the league for the wideout who underwent surgery in April to repair an anterior cruciate ligament. The workout, which was televised on ESPN and NFL Networks, was the 37-year-old’s first since his injury six months ago. Owens said he felt positive about the workout.

“Honestly, I felt great," Owens told ESPN.

The wide receiver said he believed God had placed him into his position.

"I feel confident God has put me in a situation to be here today to show people that with hard work you can come back from anything," Owens said to ESPN. “I don't need all 32 teams out there regardless of if there is none here. I just need one.”

Owens is aware that his age and injury may raise some eyebrows, but he will not accept that his age may stop him from rejoining the league.

“Your are as old as people say you are,” Owens told ESPN. “Everybody tries to throw you out of your game when your 30.”

Although he did not specifically name the team that he wants to play for, Owens did mention that he wanted to compete for a super bowl. However, he said that no matter where he goes, he would not quit on his dream.

“I want to compete for a superbowl. I want to go to a team where I can add to what they have,” Owens told ESPN. “I’m not going to give up just for the sake of giving up. I think I owe that to myself.”
