Terrell Owens Working Out With Tom Brady Causes Fans to Speculate
Terrell Owens recently caught passes from New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, which left some people speculating about the wide receiver possibly joining forces with his practice partner in another capacity.
Owens, the 39-year-old wide receiver, has not played in the NFL since 2010. Still, he was spotted working out with 35-year-old Brady.
"Bout to get this work out in @ ucla w/T Brady, M Cassel and the fellas," Owens tweeted Wednesday. "Check it out on http://hangwith.me/terrellowens frm 1230-2p PST!"
After people caught wind of the news, a number of NFL fans took to Twitter to react.
"A sign of good things to come for Terrell Owens," one person tweeted. "Can't have a better training partner than Tom Brady."
Another person speculated about the possibilities of Owens joining forces with Brady as a Patriot next season.
"If T.O. gets signed by the Pats, then Tom Brady will have been thrown to 3 amazing WR, Randy Moss, Chad Johnson & Terrell Owens," the person tweeted.
Still, others could do nothing more than speculate about what the pair practicing together really meant.
"Could Terrell Owens be catching passes from Tom Brady this fall," the person questioned. "Interesting."
Owens holds records in the NFL, holding down the position as second all time in receiving yards and third in receiving touchdowns. Although he was sidelined by an injury in 2010 after playing with the Cincinnati Bengals, the wideout signed with the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League.
Last season, he was given the opportunity to sign with the Seattle Seahawks but was released before the close of the 2012 season began.
Owens has been vocal about his unwavering faith while trying to make his way back into the NFL after overcoming injury.
"I'm truly blessed beyond belief," Owens tweeted last August. "My FAITH is intact & will NOT waver."
