Terrell Owens Petitions Jets for Job; Fans Speculate on 'TO and Tebow Show'

Terrell Owens, 38-year-old free agent NFL wide receiver, took to Twitter to petition the New York Jets to give him a job recently and is still keeping the faith that his next opportunity is on the horizon.

Owens was picked up and released by the Seattle Seahawks last August, but still kept his faith that another team would give him an opportunity. After the Jets lost their second consecutive game on Sunday in a 17-23 defeat at the hands of the Houston Texans, the veteran wideout took to his Twitter account to petition the New York team with a 2-3 record for a job.

"Hey JETS!!! I'm available! I'm ready, willing and able," Owens tweeted in plain view of over one million followers. "Call my agent @jordanwoy & let's make it happen."

The message was re-tweeted by over 13,000 people at press time and received mixed reactions from fans of the team and receiver. One fan thought that Owens was too good for the team that recently lost their star receiver Santonio Holmes to an injury for the season.

"@terrellowens don't lower your standards," one fan tweeted the veteran wideout.

However, another person seemed to want to see Owens play alongside popular backup quarterback turned special teams player Tim Tebow.

"The T.O. & Tebow Show," the fan speculated.

However, Jets head coach Rex Ryan recently let the media know that his team was looking "for guys maybe a little younger and a little more speed."

While Owens will turn 39 in December, he let fans know that he remained faithful about getting back on the field this season after re-tweeting a message sent to him by life coach Chris Marvel.

"Your faith is what will make doors fly open for you in this season," the message reads. "You are in position to be blessed."

To the message, Owens simply responded, "Yes!"
