Terrell Owens Signs With Seahawks Months After Declaring Faith in 'God's Plan'
Terrell Owens officially made his way back into the NFL Monday, signing with the Seattle Seahawks after relying on his faith to bring him past injuries, personal struggles and naysayers.
Owens, 38-year-old veteran wide receiver, glorified God on Twitter while announcing the news on the social network Monday night.
"God is good. Thankful. Grateful. To ALL my new teammates & the '12th Man'... Let's Do This," Owens tweeted to over one million followers on the social networking website. "So much love being shown on my TL, I thank you all so much! Feel blessed, (I'm) blessed. With faith all things are possible!!"

While the wideout suffered an injury during his 2010 season with the Cincinnati Bengals that resulted in him undergoing knee surgery, he was not picked up by an NFL team last season. However, Owens was vocal about being confident in God's plans to bring him back to the NFL.
When no NFL teams were on hand to witness his highly publicized workout that was supposed to prove his ability to return to the league in October, Owens remained confident in God.
"I feel confident God has put me in a situation to be here today to show people that with hard work you can come back from anything," Owens told ESPN. "I don't need all 32 teams out there regardless of if there is none here. I just need one."
Before the Seakhawks became the team to give the veteran receiver an opportunity, he took matters into his own hands by joining the Indoor Football League in January. Owens explained why he decided to do so in an interview with Jim Miller and co-host Adam Schein on SiriusXM NFL Radio in April.
Owens was sure about his plan to use the IFL to keep in shape for his return to the NFL.
"Definitely, that is the plan. I'm keeping myself in shape," Owens said. "I'm sure everyone knows I'm playing in the Indoor Football League with the Allen Wranglers. I'm using it as a way to keep myself in shape to play a few more years."
Although his stint with the Wranglers ended prematurely and on bad terms, the wideout continued to remain faithful about his NFL return and even re-tweeted a career blessing from Derrick L Young, Archbishop and Patriarch of Abundant Life International Fellowship Inc., a part of the Pentecostal Holiness denomination.
"I declare and decree in the name of Jesus that whatever you do in your life from this minute forward is going to be fruitful," Young tweeted to Owens.
Owens re-tweeted the message, one week after publicly declaring that he definitely plans to play an NFL game once again.
Four months later, Owens officially declared his return to the NFL after close to a two-year hiatus.
"As our grandmothers have always said, the man upstairs makes no mistakes," Owens friend and NFL wideout Chad Johnson tweeted to the new Seahawks receiver.
"You already know," Owens responded simply.
