Texans vs Packers: Can Texans Become Best NFL Team?
It is hard to consider the Houston Texans the underdogs at this point, with an undefeated record going into week six. Can the rookie team take on the more well seasoned Green Bay Packers.
Two years ago, The Packers would have been a shoo-in against the Houston Texans. This season however, the team has struggled to bring back the same A game that won the Super Bowl in 2010.
The reasons for the Packers' slow 2-3 start may seem obvious. Production from the receivers has been subpar, and both Craig Benson and Greg Jennings have been added to the injured list. The offensive line has allowed the second-most sacks in the NFL and even quarterback Aaron Rodgers hasn't achieved his NFL MVP status.
The Texans by contrast, currently have one of the best defense lines in the league, including a strong pass defense. Running back Arian Foster has also gained a good reputation in the NFL, strengthening the Texans' run game.Their success so far has been met with some skepticism by opposing fans, who have deflated their victory to the luck of the draw. But beating down the Green Bay Packers could just be enough to make the Texans the best team in the NFL right now.
As beneficial as the win could be for the Texans, it could be equally as detrimental of a loss to the Green Bay Packers. Going into the game below a .500, a loss to the Green Bay Packers could kick the team out of the running for play offs; a victory of course would put them back on schedule.
