'The Big Bang Theory' Season 11 Spoilers, Cast News: Sheldon and Wil Compete for the New Professor Proton Role

Next Thursday on "The Big Bang Theory," Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) will have to go against his enemy-turned-friend Wil Wheaton (as himself) to become the next Professor Proton.

As revealed in the synopsis of the upcoming episode of "The Big Bang Theory," titled "The Proton Regeneration," the Trekkies go head-to-head as they vie for the role of Professor Proton.

A teaser for the episode shows Sheldon on Wil's doorstep, most likely uninvited, to inform his friend that he needs to take acting lessons. Wil, who lit up because of the news, assuming the physicist was asking him to be the mentor, was immediately disappointed when Sheldon asked for "Star Trek" actor Patrick Stewart's number.

Wil, who also appeared on the franchise as Wesley Crusher, was clearly disappointed, and as per usual, it seems like Sheldon did not understand the situation.

Elsewhere next episode, Penny (Kaley Cuoco) will be Halley's mommy for the day. She will babysit the Wolowitzes' newborn when both Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) and Howard (Simon Helberg) end up on bed rest.

In the clip, Rauch, who is actually pregnant, tells her on-screen hubby that she has some news. Howard, assuming it is about the pregnancy, could not help but utter out loud and repeatedly, as if it were a prayer, "Don't say twins."

The narrator dubbed the upcoming installment "the biggest episode yet" so there might be surprising announcements coming.

What if Bernadette is not carrying twins but triplets? Or what if time along with Halley will make Penny think about motherhood?

Fans can only speculate for now. To find those answers, viewers can catch "The Big Bang Theory" season 11 episode 6, titled "The Proton Regeneration," airs Thursday, Nov. 2 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
