'The Big Bang Theory' Season 7 Spoilers: Cliffhanger Finale to See 'A Lot of Moves'

"The Big Bang Theory" returns to CBS for one last episode of season seven tonight entitled "The Status Quo Combustion."

Leonard and Penny finally got engaged during last week's installment, but fans have even more to look forward to in the season finale of the comedy series tonight. According to executive producer Steve Molaro, many more changes are in store for the beloved characters on "The Big Bang Theory."

"There are a lot of moves made by different people in the finale," the EP told TVGuide. "This season is more of a cliff-hanger … and what happens affects everyone, not just one person."

Nevertheless, the focus of the season seven finale will be on Sheldon. As previously reported, Jim Parsons, who portrays Sheldon, confirmed what CBS already hinted at in the finale synopsis- that his character goes AWOL by the end of the episode.

"He gets the hell out of there and I have no idea where he's going or what he's planning," the 41-year-old actor told TVLine. "I won't know until I come back and read the first episode [of season eight]."

Although Parsons does not know where his character went, the actor does know why Sheldon takes off expectedly in the finale.

"All the [personal and professional] changes that are taking place finally start to come home to roost for him as problems," the actor explained of Sheldon. "They've got him in a situation now, the writers do, where it's not possible to carry on without some changes."

Furthermore, Molaro explained Sheldon's breakdown in relation to his girlfriend, Amy, portrayed by Mayim Bialik.

"He's really struggling at a crossroads in not just his career right now, but all walks of Sheldon, which is also taking up a lot of his focus above and beyond his relationship with Amy," the EP told TVGuide. "She's trying to do her best to help him move on and get through this, but everything is really rattling him."

As for Raj (Kunal Nayyar) and Emily (Laura Spencer), Molaro said the pair are rapidly getting more serious as season seven ends, in so small party because of Raj's "charming honesty."

"Their chemistry is great and we just went with it, I'm really enjoying the dynamic," he said. "It's taken awhile, but it's worth it when we get there."

"The Big Bang Theory" will air on CBS Thursday at 8 p.m. EST. The synopsis of "The Status Quo Combustion" is as follows: "In the season 7 finale, Sheldon gets caught up in all the life-altering changes going on around him and considers a monumental move."
