'The Dark Knight Rises' Previewed in Theaters; Movie Garners Praise
Last night clever Batman fans were treated to a special screening of the first six minutes of the new film "The Dark Knight Rises."
A viral marketing campaign had fans sifting through CIA documents and looking for clues in various cities worldwide in hopes of figuring out a puzzle to secure a location for secret website, OperationEarlyBird.com.
It was this site that revealed the time and location for the special screening.
One of the screenings was held at AMC Loews Lincoln 13 IMAX Theater in Manhattan, N.Y., where a huge crowd showed up to get a peak of the "Bat."
Kenny Klugewicz, a die-hard Batman fan, was one of the lucky few who made it. "[There was] a thunderous standing ovation!," he told The Christian Post, referring to the ending of the sneak peak. "I think everyone was surprised that this prologue was just as good because The Dark Knight was so epic that it would seem impossible to top."
Screeners of the movie are raving about the new film with the only foreseeable problem being the villain Bane's voice, which still did not deter the excitement.
"I loved it. Christopher Nolan just did an ingenious scene, a great action scene, something that will have your jaw drop. It was pretty amazing just watching it on the screen," said Tyler Rice to MTV. "Bane's voice sounded awesome, but you can't understand what he's saying. He had about two clear lines you can hear what he's saying. Otherwise, it just sounded like awesome gibberish."
Klugewicz was awe struck. "The prologue leaves you wanting more and the anticipation for next summer is killing me," he said. "I really can't decide between this movie and the previous one which opening sequence was better."
He continued, "Bane is just as cunning and smart as the joker is but he is also looking to be a physical challenge for Batman."
One scene many fans are waiting for will reportedly feature the "largest fight scene ever," which was filmed on Wall Street in Manhattan, N.Y.
Around 1000 extras were used in a pivotal fighting scene were the people of Gotham fought to take their city back from villain, Bane.

The popular franchise began in 2005 with "Batman Begins," and since then has been heralded by many as making the two greatest superhero movies of all time – once "The Dark Knight" was released in 2008.
Slated for a July 20, 2012 release, many of the series stars are coming back. Christian Bale plays Bruce Wayne/Batman while Gary Oldman plays the role of commissioner Gordan, Also returning in this movie are Michael Caine as Alfred, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Cillian Murphy as the Scarecrow, and Liam Neeson as Ra Al Ghul.
The newcomers to the movie are Joseph-Gordon-Levitt, playing John Blake, Anne Hathaway as Catwoman and Tom Hardy in the role of Bane.
Despite being the main star of the trilogy, Christian Bale recently admitted that he did not intend on playing the notorious role as Bruce Wayne in “The Dark Knight Rises.”
The Australian actor spoke to the publication Philippine Inquirer Daily about his disinterest in playing Batman in the film again.
“I wrapped a few days ago so that will be the last time I’m taking that cowl [Batman hood] off,” he said. “I believe that the whole production wrapped yesterday, so it’s all done. Everything’s finished. It’s me and Chris – that will be the end of that Batman era.”
Director Christopher Nolan is widely known as reviving the Batman franchise after George Clooney's disastrous rendition of the character in 1997’s "Batman & Robin.”
Nolan's 2005 release, "Batman Begins," put the superhero back on the map, where the character and story were much darker compared to the cartoon-like worlds of previous movies.
"Batman Begins" grossed $370 million worldwide, including $48 million in its opening weekend.
"The Dark Knight," released in 2008, was even darker, especially due to the character Joker played by Heath Ledger, who died of a sleeping pill overdose after completing the movie.
The movie was nominated for eight Academy awards and won two of them: "Best Sound Editing" and "Best Supporting Actor”.
"The Dark Knight" is the most successful superhero movie, and one of the most successful films of all time.
