'The Flame in the Flood' to Roll Out on Nintendo Switch Next Week

Starting next week, Nintendo Switch owners can enjoy "The Flame in the Flood" in their consoles, more than a year and a half after it was first released.

According to NintendoLife, video game publisher Curve Digital came out with a press release, confirming the game's arrival on the Nintendo Switch via the eShop next Thursday, Oct. 12. Moreover, they also revealed a short trailer showing actual game sequences, as well as some of the characters. In addition, the trailer also flashed some one-line reviews the game received from gaming experts.

"The Flame in The Flood is a bleak but beautiful rogue-lite set upon a treacherous, procedurally generated river," wrote Curve Digital. "With the help of your trusty dog, Aesop, The Flame In The Flood tasks you to make the most of your surroundings by foraging, hunting and scavenging your way through nature and the remains of society," their statement continued.

"With an evocative, homespun art-style and lilting, original soundtrack by Chuck Ragan, survival has never been this enjoyable," the press release added.

Back in August, Curve Digital announced that "The Flame in the Flood, and "Human: Fall Flat" are both coming to Nintendo's flagship console. Developed by The Molasses Flood, "The Flame in the Flood" features a young female protagonist named Scout. She is accompanied by her dog, Aesop, who has the ability to fetch their supplies and sense danger.

Players need to look after Scout's needs like maintain her energy, quenching her thirst, and providing warmth and shelter.

The people behind the game are the same people who worked on "BioShock," "Guitar Hero," "Rock Band," and "Halo." With players taking on the character of Scout, they ride aboard a raft to navigate around a huge river. The river came about after a massive flood that resulted in the land turning into groups of islands.

"The Flame in the Flood" was first released in February 2016 for PlayStation 4. It also rolled out on the Xbox One as well as on Microsoft Windows.
