'The Good Wife' Season 5 Spoilers: 'Big Fights' in Finale Lead to 'Bigger Battlefield' in Season 6
"The Good Wife" returns to CBS this Sunday with just one more episode, "The One Percent," before the season five finale.
As the television series draws nearer to the end of the season, fans are wondering what is ahead for Alicia Florrick (Julianna Marguiles). Some viewers are predicting that Florrick may be betrayed by Diane Lockhart, but regardless of the details, "The Good Wife" star Marguiles promises that "tensions" will be on the rise in the finale.
"There's some tensions, I mean some s--- went down when [Alicia] was in bed for a couple of days after Will's death, and he sort of- there's some big fights about to happen that you'll see," the EP explained to E! News. "I think Alicia realizes that she might have made a mistake. Let's just say that."
Executive producer of "The Good Wife" Robert King also teased some information about the season five closer.
"It's not a cliffhanger in that, 'Oh, which way is Alicia going to choose,'" the EP told TVLine. It's more a cliffhanger in that, 'Oh, now what does that mean? That's an interesting decision.' It's a cliffhanger of a new chapter opening in Alicia's life."
Furthermore, King said that the May 18 finale will lead "The Good Wife" into a "bigger battlefield" for its sixth season this fall, according to TVLine. The CBS drama airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EST. The synopsis for "The One Percent" is as follows: "Alicia manages the fallout when her corporate CEO client's insensitive statements to the press threaten the fate of a multi-billion dollar merger. Meanwhile, Diane and Louis Canning take opposite sides in a class-action suit involving a pharmaceutical company; and Eli learns the truth about Alicia and Peter's relationship."
The season finale set to air May 18 is entitled "A Weird Year." The synopsis is as follows: "Season 5 ends with Alicia and Cary learning about a threat to the firm when an open feed from a camera is left on following a teleconferences deposition with Lockhart/Gardner. Meanwhile, Louis Canning vie for a larger role at LG; and Alicia entrusts plans for Zach's high-school graduation party to Jackie and Veronica."
